    LOL. I do mortgage underwriting, not estate planning, so take what I say worth a grain of salt. But when you are an authorized user to something, you can use the cards, access the accounts and you are not liable for the debts.

    When it comes to co-signing, you are essentially a joint person to an account. If I cosigned for you for a car, and you cant make the payments, the dealership/finance company will come to me to get thier money. Both our credits get pulled, both our credits get screwed. My credit was pulled to support yours. Same goes with renting. If you are new to renting and the landlord requires a cosigner, it means they have two people to go after if you cant make rent.

    So in your case, student loans/cars, typically on a death, the estate executor would liquidate the estate assets(home, cars, belongings) and pay off all debts in the deceased name. So yes, the estate would cover those things since they are on the accounts to them, but I would assume the executor would realize that some of the debts are not personal to the deceased(say a child), and would notify the child that they are to pay those debts off on thier own.

    An estate planning attorney is who you would ideally need to ask. Hell, r/legaladvice on reddit would be a strong source.
