I've never done one of theirs, but they had a $21 one that people did a couple of months ago for sure.

Your biggest complaint is about something that practically never happens? Admittedly I don't do a ton of surveys, but I'm well over 100k HITs so I've done my fair share, and I definitely have been around the forums a while now.

Instances I've seen legit academic requesters actually come to this platform to "steal" data: 1 that directly stands out, and that guy was more of a major dumbass than purposefully fraudulent and basically said "piss off" when a bunch of angry people e-mailed him.

Instances where formatting or other technical issues caused a legit academic requester to mass reject: Too many to count. Most of the time a few hours pass and the rejections are overturned because the req has no clue its even a big deal. Every once in a blue moon it has to go to an IRB and then it gets overturned.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanlon's_razor

Its also because we have quite a few requesters here who I would like to feel welcomed and free to interact without seeing an angry mob of people willing to track them down IRL during a moment of emotional instability. Not so much @MoonGrass but if I let him post it then I'll have to let someone less chill & awesome as he is do it too.

I'm perfectly fine with people contacting requesters to politely explain why the rejection was erroneous and hurtful to a worker account. IRB information exists to be used, but as TO so wonderfully demonstrates the mob mentality is all too real when it comes to rejections lol. See the above wiki link.

If the day comes where an academic requester legitimately defrauds a ton of users here I'll be the first one to donate time to get it settled - but I have yet to witness an instance where a quick e-mail mixed with some time & patience didn't settle the issue far better than rounding up the ol' pitchforks.

In a similar vein, I would never let a requester come here and post any of y'alls details if you fucked up a HIT. I'd totally tell him to block and report to AMT on their own time/dime like during the Eitan rejection fiasco, but as far as personal contact details go I'd be just as quick to edit that kind of mess as I do requester e-mails.

ETA: I understand I'm almost positively over-cautious on editing out req e-mails, given that 90% of the time they're public record anyway, but IMO better safe than sorry and I don't have the time to sift through the niche cases, so sorry if its kind of a PitA.

Lunch dates are the best! When Matt and I lived in different places, I always found it really nice when he was somewhere near-ish to me for work and would invite me to a lunch date. Now that we live in the same house, I still like it when he wants to come home for a bit to have a lunch date. I think there is something nice about wanting to A) see someone in the daylight B) being willing to share your free time in the middle of the day. Lunch dates for the win!

I should also point out lunch dates tend to be more casual and low maintenance!
