I don't follow RPi prices but you can get a Raspberry Pi Zero from microcenter for $5 (They had them on sale for $1 awhile ago though lol)

and that does basically anything worth doing on a pi tbh. Anything else and they don't have enough power for the tasks anyways.

That looks like a pretty good price for it. I think I got a pi3/power supply/case/heat sink combo for $49. (I had a spare sd card and hdmi to use for it)

The pi zero @Randomacts suggested is probably a good way to go...unless you're looking to do something that needs more power...or the gpio pins...
