    Serious question: How do taxes work on a PT job? You pay something but then get it all back at the end of the year right? Assuming just random normal withholding or w/e?

    Basically, does someone working a PT (or FT? would it even make a diff?) min-wage job actually make the full min-wage over the year or does some of it actually disappear into the IRS coffers?

    At least I left out the month long hangover of them simply going to shit instead of disappearing entirely.. that clinging to hope the pay goes back up really screws folks.

    I don't think that the IRS cares about the amount of hours that you work. They just want their cut.

    I don't think he realizes that the employer is paying the employment taxes so I guess not.

    Yeah, but I've never paid attention to what I actually got back in any of them. I'm just curious if there's a level of job that is so ass the IRS is like "nah dude, you need this more than we do" and gives you all your withheld taxes back lmao.
