Oh la la! I too love cooking things from far off places. I've recently started making curries after avoiding them forever since they look like they've already been eaten lol. I cook waaaaay too much Asian food, usually at least two or three times a week... sesame oil is life! Occasionally some Moroccon, German, and always a ton of Mexican.

Even then, a recipe will say "feed 4-5 people" and I'm all, uh, maybe like 4-5 bowls SPLIT between 2 people
(I eat a lot for being a stick )

 

I buy non persishables in the ware house stores sometimes but for food I find we just don't get through it fast enough to make it worthwhile. I won't buy frozen meat and veggies are really hit and miss in those stores. I have an Aldi's and a Sprouts within a mile of my house and that's pretty much 95% of my weekly shopping.

What is wrong with buying raw meat and freezing a shit ton of it? You don't need to buy the low quality prefrozen stuff.

 

Yeah, I always make extra veggies and such so Matt is a full boy! There are lots of sneaky ways to add more calories to a meal fairly inexpensively so you get more nom for your buck. I'm a stickler about well balanced meals!

Sesame oil is bae! (Am I using that correctly? I stil never know!) Matt got me A feast of Ice and Fire for christmas so at least once a week I start loudly singing the GOT theme song at the dinner table.

I seriously have the urge to pop up in everyone's kitchens and feed them now! Matt is gone for the week and I feel verklempt in the kitchen.

 

My brother doesn't eat much veggies so I have to cook all of that stuff on the side.. I've tried to force feed him some green beans but it hasn't worked.
