It makes sense that he wouldn't notice it until he sees it because onions are way more than what people think is an oniony-flavor. There's a technical Alton Brown explanation that I can't muster up the energy to remember, but tldr they're basically a flavor enhancer for any food it touches. Mmmmm garlic. <3

I have a texture things with some things. I love beans and bananas, though. Mushrooms, on the other hand, are the enemy. I just made my way past the texture thing to be able to love tomatoes and avocado. I don't think I'll ever make it there with mushrooms. Fuck mushrooms.

 

I'm surprised. Cinnamon has such a strong flavor, I can immediately detect even the smallest amount in something I'm eating. I like it as long as it's a complementary flavor and not overpowering the dish.

 

I don't know if I've ever made a savory dish that was not loaded with garlic lol. It's easily the single most use flavoring in my house.

 

It is usually the texture, not the flavor that most don't like.
I don't mind the taste of onion, but the way they feel in my mouth, cooked or raw is just nasty to me.

 

Well the dish also has a bunch of cumin in it.

I am with you on the pickle hatred, bro. My girlfriend loves pickles. The mere taste of it in my food disgusts me. If I ever get a burger somewhere and they put pickles on it, I send it back immediately. Removing the pickle does nothing, it's already soaked itself into my food.

 

I think I need to make up a big jar of yellow curry paste this weekend lol.
