The taste of vegetables can be attributed on how taste buds develop. As a child we don't like bitter foods because of the fact that they could be harmful to us as poisonous foods tend to be bitter. As we get older, we stop having that evolutionary response. That's why beer is an "acquired' taste.

 

I used to hate fresh tomatoes. If they were part of something that was cooked or in a sauce that was fine. But I hated tomatoes on sandwiches or in salads. A few weeks after I quit drinking diet soda (and artificial sweeteners in general) I popped a tomato slice in my mouth and liked it. Now my sandwiches and salads always have those little guys on them.

I'm not actually a big fan of garlic as the main flavor. Used properly as a spice it is great.. but most people that go "OMG I LOVE GARLIC" use it waaaaay too much and that is all that you taste.

I'm 20 and still don't drink beer because I hate the taste of it. Even the 'good' IPA stuff.

I couldn't figure out why I had such bad memories of certain veggies until I got older and realized I'm ALLERGIC AND MY PARENTS IGNORED THE RASH AND ITCHY MOUTH!

We've had the garlic chat, hence why I tagged ya silly vampire! I still don't like IPA's as an adult, too bitter. I' m all about a good stout! Matt, on the other hand, is the opposite. Our opposing preferences makes for a balanced fridge haha
