I am also Roman Catholic though not offensively so ( I hope) and my understanding is the Church has no problem with cremation (most of my family has been cremated) only with separating the remains such as the practice of putting ashes in necklaces and such. That being said I would never presume to tell someone else what to do with their loved ones remains or express ANY opinion on whether said person was going to be "saved" or not based on the treatment of their remains or how they live their lives my opinion has always been that is between them and God or who ever/what ever they believe in.
