try turkey baby food, my cats love licking it off my finger though you may have to put it on a plate since he is feral but no chewing required and apparently very yummy.

if he is willing to take it from you hand eventually it is a good way to get them used to human contact. This has worked for me several times on poorly socialized and or neglected cats but never tried on a full out feral cat.

That's what I did with Bearnie! <3 The taking it from my hands thing. Scrag man will take it out of my hand and then scurry off with it to eat in a feral huddle, but the fact he will take it from me before he runs is a good sign I'd say . I'll check out the baby food, thanks for the idea! Poor little scraggles needs to put on some serious weight. He does alright with me and Matt, and he was ok-ish at the vet (she said he was cranky, but not close to the meanest cat she had ever met and that he was doing alright for a feral) but he freaks the hell out with strangers. If someone had broke my face, I probably wouldn't trust most people either, can't really blame the little dude. If he ends up half as nice as Bearnie, I think he'll be just fine!

And tbh, this is what I still do with bearnie, cause I think it would be rude to change our relationship now:
