I never even knew this was such a contentious issue until today! Of all the insane things my neighbors have ever done, I don't think I've ever given a hoot about what they have in their windows.

the seemingly random placement of the shoes is really a coded message

 

We closed curtains if we got dressed in our bedrooms instead of the bathrooms after showers. She wasn't crazy with, but curtains did normally stay open. It was just normal for us. I'd go to friends homes and wonder why everyone was in the dark.

I just think it's weird to have all of your shoes sitting in the window :/ I know its their apartment and all but at least line the shoes up nicely or something lol

I keep my curtains/blinds open during the day but as soon as it is dark, closed. That'd be weird to think someone was looking in at me.

And since I put 500 million light strands outside of my house this time of year, my house is being looked at and I asked for that, lol.

Around here there are sometimes rules on what can be in windows. Some apartment complexes say only blinds or curtains. Our rental contracts specifically state only blinds and curtains can be in windows, and I don't manage apartments. Just single family homes and duplexes/triplexes.

That was mostly to prevent people from hanging wildly inappropriate things in windows or completely blacking out windows to turn an entire house into a grow house.

 

When I order apple juice from the Chinese place last at night, they bring me a 6 pack Mexican beer.
