I'm right outside of Crook county and it's damn near impossible to live here and I want out. The house my dad/I owned for years was 8k in property taxes, and it was a completely average house, not in any special neighborhood or subdivision, and in a suburb ~45 minutes nw of the city, neighboring Cook. I just looked up a tax calculator and it said that $13K is for a $650K house. You're property tax rate is actually a little lower than mine, but the land value must be way different. $650K here would get you a house almost 5000 sq ft.
