I'm aware of what the arguments are, I just don't think they're very compelling.

Hardly any site worth a darn will give users unfettered API access w/o at least a contact email. Even reddit, which doesn't even ask for an email on normal account registration AFAIK, forces OAuth2 for their API.

There was someone complaining the other day about having to register here to see some reviews.. while simultaneous saying how they loved reading reviews on TO.. which wont let you look at a single thing w/o registering.

Its just one of those situations where I'm gonna have to eat the yelling & gnashing of teeth lol.

I could see this as being pretty fair from someone who doesn't hang out here haha.

Or from someone who does hang out here too much, get off my lawn kids
