Obfuscating is intentional. I doubt the source was written badly, but the obfuscation is really well done.
That code is impossible to read, there is no modifying it.
TA did, but I didn't like how the code was obfuscated. Then then other ones send your data to their servers, so I noped on those too.
Decompile the crx, you load unpacked extensions through a folder.
Check the chrome extension archive sites.
In the code it looks like there should be a setting for it.
Its done because HITs are submitted to the day they were accepted on mturk, not to the day you submit them.
