For the record I make mine with real thin slices from the steaks and they reach 145° pretty quick. If I'm using ground meat I usually go around...
As long as the harvested animal was clean of CWD, Blue Tongue or any of that crap than you're pretty safe. Bear meat has a chance of Trichinosis....
