Thanks for all the hard work umm I mean playing you are doing. I had that Live Update issue many times on MTG (before it was sold and put on a junk server.) It would just get stuck in an infinite update loop and I had to refresh the page to clear it. Pointing it out as a data point in case there is similarity between the software on the 2 sites.

Also, I generally switch to the Home Page when I quit for the day. Does this cause you problems? If so I can close the tab at night.

TLU is a piece of crap. The people who wrote it are actually permanently banned from releasing content on the XenForo official forums (did not know this when I got it, or the two themes from them). On fresh install it will literally live update a locked thread.. forever.. !?!?!?!?!? /triggered. I've added a number of checks to it to limit its scope, at this point it shouldn't continue to be the brain dead piece of crap it was when I first installed it, but the way it works still isn't ideal. The only problem with it now is the "clingers" who haven't closed their old tabs / refreshed the site, since the old userscript will continue to run on their PCs requesting content that doesn't exist until the end of time lol.

Those issues are compounded by the fact that I put this server up on the fly with minimal sysadmin experience. I've run websites in the past, but very rarely the actual servers so some of my configurations and software/back end choices aren't the most optimal. For business purposes I pay other people to keep my sites running for me, but unfortunately that isn't really an option on this project because of the expense involved in that (unless someone here is willing to donate their time/expertise that I don't have). At some point I'm probably going to boot another droplet and transfer everything to a more optimized environment or look to pay someone to manage the back end stuff because its been a real drain on my personal time and its keeping me from creating new stuff for the site (which is all I really care about lol).

Swapping to the home page does nothing at all.. its a single page request to static content and then as far as the server is concerned you don't exist anymore. The only issue is/was w/ TLU.

Not bad for me considering there were 2 days I basically didn't work on Mturk. I am doing much better than I was. Hope to hit numbers like some of the rest of you some day.

 

It's completely doable. I've only been seriously at this for a month and it's east to see how those that make good money do it. You need the time and dedication though.

I know I'm the crazy cat lady around these parts, but has anyone ever dealt w/ IBD in their pets? I think one of our girls may have it and I'm swimming in information and just hoping it's this simple and not anything worse

 

Well normally I only turk M-F while at my "regular" job because it is dead and I am the only one there lol. Weekends and evenings is a little harder because I have a 2 year old. I am trying to get everything setup at home so I can at least do some when she naps and after she goes to bed. Obviously I have other housework and stuff to do too but I figure every little bit will help.

I am getting a better handle on it though so I am doing better on my normal turking time....it wasn't long ago that I was averaging only 9.50 is a day
