Just buy a charcoal starter to cook steaks. You get it ready like normal, but instead of pouring out the charcoal into the grill, just put the start right on top of the steak. 90 seconds to 2 minutes on each side for medium rare. Add 30-60 seconds to bump it to medium. If you cook steak over medium, stop wasting it and just eat the sole of your shoe. Save you money on buying a really expensive grill.

 

^ Alton Brown is the best. When I'm cooking something for the first time, I google the meal + Alton Brown to see WWABD and pretend he's offering me advice in my kitchen while I prepare it.
