you would prepare for that type of purchase and save old ketchup bottles. My father once had the mailman give him all of the samples of a toothpast because he did not want to deliver them. We had to sit and open them and squeeze them into ketchup bottles so my dad would know that WE used them rather than throw them away. He would not buy more toothpaste until it was gone.
