@CheshireKitty I'm sorry you're dealing with lame trash drama. My anxiety goes through the effing roof when stuff like that happens. I actually am sort of getting flashbacks to shitty situations like this I've had in my past, and had to remind myself that it's over now and not to get worked up over it again. Phew. Point is, you're not alone. But also, this is going to be in the past for you sooner or later, too.

I think a lot of the advice you've been given today is beautiful, and even though I know it is super difficult to do when you want to puke and your mind and heart are racing during a confrontational moment... I agree wholheartedly with the "block it out" ideal.

I'm glad to see that you're already feeling better, but I just wanted to throw my support and a couple pennies in there to say that you don't ever have to let another person affect you or your life. It's a choice. That's easier said than done, but it's true. Trash people belong in your world's garbage can and not all up on your life-flow. Straight up blocking out disrespectful behavior (when rationally speaking up about it won't make a difference) and looking through people who bring you down? Totally allowed. Let them go ahead and get dramatic about that, too. Shitty people need something in their lives to feel important about, and right now it's you.

 

Man. This was a great one for me growing up. I can't find the original B-52's theme song of that on youtube though. They rebooted it a little while ago and did a crappy new version of the same song. BS

1. Words mean things.
2. Poor design. If your 'speriment's validity depends on the subject reading an article for 2 or 3 minutes, put a timer on it.
