Yes and no. They have a pretty good idea on what's likely and not likely to happen. But the point of the self-report is to see how many people will lie in a population by comparing the probabilities of their responses to a random sample of things.

 

Ye but I'm just shocked that they made it in such a way where it's actually good to lie. Kind of pointless of a study to be honest because I can't imagine many people out there would tell the truth when lying will get money with 0 repercussions.

That data is part of what they are looking for I think..

I always do them honestly but I do grab my lucky dnd dice set when I do them.

 

I imagine more than a few of these studies aren't an attempt to see if people will lie or not, but rather what proportion of Turkers will lie given X context, as compared to non-Turkers.

Not just 'will they lie', but 'will all of them lie'.

 

My dice is pretty lucky too, all faces are 6's

if $2.75 for 10 min of work and some funny 'how often do you experience GENITALS... is not what your are looking for, I would say return them

 

Agreed lol I didn't like em at $1.50 and 50 cents ain't gonna change my life so....

 

The $1.50 ones were just using a given site to fill out answers to a set question. This muff cabbage wants you to find a site, make a question and answer, and then come up with ten test examples. (As far as I can tell from the instructions.)
