I get uncomfortably hot at 70+, and I have never had a tan in my life...straight to burning. On the flip side, anything above freezing is "t-shirt weather"

The requester platform is more difficult to use than the worker one [I say this mostly because of the vast amount of support for worker efficiency from Kada/Tjololo/Feih/all those who came before, turn off TamperMonkey and go try to work on mturk and that's the experience most reqs have to deal with]. A good portion of it is disabled if you don't download extra tools that have next to no documentation (think scripts, except you have to halfway code and set them up yourself instead of @Kadauchi's beautiful user friendly interface).

It has seen a few improvements since I started using it, but nothing to rave about. Personally I'm surprised anyone uses mTurk from the requester perspective who isn't directly tied to Amazon or happens to be working on something AMT has designed the platform to accommodate well (basically just machine learning / AI training).

Without an already broad understanding of quite a variety of web/programming topics, mTurk is really really really bad for reqs.

Probably. There is a "survey template" built right into the requester dashboard, but unless you understand HTML, CSS, and probably some JS its useless.

TurkPrime has taken a lot of the more difficult to setup features and shoved them into the same requester looking interface that AMT has by default. They basically just built a more user-friendly requester dashboard (targeted towards one niche use of mTurk) and charged 5% minimum 6%, but for practical purposes usually in the range of 10-20% for it. Not a bad idea, but definitely exorbitantly expensive for requesters given AMT's already high fees.

In the year that I've been turking, I've only seen one requester ever DQ for quality of headphones.

Try a cheap pair of Sony head phones from Best Buy.
They should be more than ample for those type of HiTs and they're actually quite decent for the price.

Possible base color change so it would be more inline with the new dropdown + settings page.
