For the past few months they've been testing out other sorts of annotation HITs. They did I think one round of $8 that was actually fairly compensated for the amount of work, although I think they gave a lot of rejections on those. The later version of the same hit was $6 and allowed the user to do either a weird sub polygon tagging that didn't work or full scene annotation where you just masked the different parts of the image with the corresponding color. Those were kind of garbage pay but they had a longer timer and dropped at night, so I can forgive being ~$6/hr if the work drops at 2am and there's nothing else to do.

So,the earlier versions of the HIT were much more reasonable, the current $2 or $3 HITs are big league garbage. The interface barely works, crashes, fails to upload, and the worst part is the compensation. I've sent the requester some messages and feedback but haven't heard anything back; some of the comments I made were sort of addressed in their revised instruction video which is better than nothing but that isn't exactly the sort of communication I would expect from a requester that wants to generate good data.

The worst part is, this is the sort of task that, if fairly compensated and if I were permitted to work at my own pace and use photoshop instead of their bad web interface I could probably do ~12 frames of annotation an hour, and just upload vector masks they could resize and use however they want.

The tldr is, the pay is bad, the task is bad, the requester issues rejections, and doesn't seem interested in responding to feedback/direct contact.

 

Wait they are reject happy? Does that mean when I sent it to @GreenMachine842 I almost murdered a unicorn?

I should have tried a bit harder to get @leafs4_cup to do it when I saw the unicorn drop a while ago.

 

I know they issued some rejections from the first batch, I don't know if they are doing rejections for the newer stuff.

 

Unicorn blood is good. Let it flow!

 

There is nothing worse than when one of your favorite batches drops a single hit and then after over an hour of waiting they still don't drop any more hits.

I did 1 that day, but my super closed qual that I desperately want to humblebrag about dropped at the same time, so I forgot to go back to them. I think it approved? Although I had to watch a few people die in head on collisions.

 

Now that would be a way to go out lol
