My husband goes nuts when I make it, because he already is an insomniac and when he wakes up to the smell he starts starving. You can totally drink it when it's done. It's so silky and flavorful it's crazy. I can barely stand using regular stock anymore. But yeah, I'm impatient as well. I try to make enough to keep a lot back, but usually end up making an even bigger soup rather than a normal amount and saving broth. A lot of times we also just use the picked meat to pack in small bits for the freezer, to use for quesadillas or to toss in salad or such, and use "new" meat to make the soup itself, so that ends up making it even more brothy.
