It's such a trap. Because we're told we're going to instantly fall in love with these tiny humans who emerge and then...we don't. And days go by and we still don't. And then maybe it gets worse. So now on top of a real depression and hormones doing a number on us we have guilt...because we aren't on our babymoon. So we want to hide it because we feel like we've failed as a mom somehow. And then the spiral really begins...

I was lucky that I had a great doctor both times who checked in on that a lot. Especially after my first child dying because I'm pretty sure my entire world around me expected me to freak the frick out with my next baby but...I didn't.

I have my moments...panic attacks and very real bricks that fall from the sky out of nowhere that can take me out for a few minutes, an hour? a day? but for the most part, I think I got lucky that I found an amazing therapist after my first died who really worked with me to deal with reality and what was coming.

Bless the workers who help people like me and your wife and all women who are going through crazy imbalances and are reasonable people yet....so totally not reasonable at times.

can I do the audio hits with my dad playing music and stomping around in a rage because I couldn't name any family members except some of my mom's husbands and kids? asking for a friend.

 

True story. Everyone knows you need to give them a full shot.

 

So in this situation, would decking someone be an acceptable response? Asking for a friend.

 

This is my pet peeve. I hate breastfeeding shaming. Whether it's the fact that you arent/cant/don't want to...whatever. Or like me, choose to do it for an "extended" (by American standards) time. I make enough milk for multiple kids (literally. I had a friend whose baby was born with major issues and couldn't latch on, so she was pumping but it wasn't enough, so I only let Kiddo nurse off of one side at night and pumped off the other every morning and overnighted frozen milk to my friend every two weeks).

I have talked to so many new moms who felt guilty they weren't breast feeding and I always said, "Fuck the people who make you feel guilty. You're kid will be FINE! Breast ain't best if it's not working for the mama!" My neighbor just went through that and we've had many a drive way talk about the breast feeding mamanazis.

 

It was at this exact moment, I gave the death stare to the lactation aid, and decided that I needed to leave for dinner before I got arrested.

 

You say the most hurtful, inhumane thing you can possibly think of in the situation given your target's soul and then accept you will never speak another word to your BIL for the rest of your days.

 

Or you could just deck them, that's easier than words.

 

People that don't mistake bullying small children with "discipline" usually turn to actually effective parenting techniques when they need to cope and probably also don't have children who hate them, just sayin'

 

That shit was around before Social Media unless you never left your house.

From "wait, did you just give your kid a bottle?" or "Did you just flash your breast in public?" or "you bought the cheap carseat/stroller/carrier/diaper bag..." to all of it.

WE NEED TO STOP MOM SHAMING AS A SOCIETY! Just support each other and know we are all trying our best (well, most of us. Some aren't, we can shame them...I see them when I do home inspections and have to legally keep my mouth shut...)

and dad shaming, but maybe I just don't pay enough attention...I don't feel like it happens to them as much.
