Alright so heres the deal:

IMO - the worst thing you can do is hide a good paying task/Requester from a fellow worker using TO/TV. Its just.. a crap thing to do. Finding shit tasks on mTurk is easy, a brainless monkey could do it. Finding quality work is much, much more difficult which is nowadays almost the entire point of TV. Anyway whether that is done intentionally or by reviewing something kinda useless (quals, screeners, broken HITs, etc) doesn't really matter because the end impact is the same: you're tanking a Requesters score when for the main purpose of their tasks they may actually be pretty well paying.

Qual HITs are a necessary evil, IMO. One shit worker can nuke an entire project, and frankly paying to screen these people out through quals is annoying for us & Requesters, so its better to just let it go and not rate.

Screeners are.. gonna take some brain power on your end (or none & just don't rate them). If its Pirc-esque and takes 5 minutes (or some obnoxious amount of time that is far too much to waste on an unpaid/underpaid demographics survey) then by all means drop a well reasoned note on their profile. If the extent of the data is a 1-bomb it'll be removed eventually.

If its a 30s demographics screener that pays a nickel and you rate it on TV I will probably nuke it, and if its all someone rates I tend to nuke the account too. Now, if you go rate the screener AND the survey to balance it out I tend to leave both alone since at that point you've built a nice, fleshed out overview of the Requesters existence for other people to come look at.

Screeners tend to get more leeway because.. tbh.. its not always even easy to know its a screener lol. I personally rarely look at the title of a HIT, so that one up there (if it paid well) I'd have likely reviewed. Really the only time I double-check a TV submission is if its crap because I don't want to accidentally hide work from someone else.

TL;DR: If you booboo an error in the Requester/Worker favor (ie, land work in someone's queue because it looked well paying even if it wasn't great) you'll have no problems using TV - because IME those errors tend to get worked out in the dataset anyway (someone who grabs a survey expecting $20/hr and only makes $10/hr almost always reviews that shit lol)

If your times are ass or all you do is rate crap HITs or whatever, I nuke data pretty quickly

 

I doubt that protects you from polar bear attacks.
