i remember when I graduated HS here and went to community college. The were like u probs need pre-college science, math, reading before the college level cause *pats* third world country foreigner.....almost all the ppl i knew in my 1 yr in HS went into those pre college classes....me i placed into the actual college level stuff, admin were like wtf.

 

To be fair, 5th grade was like, what, 20 years ago for most of the contestants? There's so much crap they teach you in school you'll never use, all in the name of teaching children to be good little factory workers when they grow up.

 

yeah our education is pretty poo across the board for public schools. All the schools I went to were DODDs schools (department of defense dependents) where it always seemed that they had the teachers who couldn't hack it in the states....

though to be fair I was an AWFUL student and barely passed HS

From what I can tell from Colton (the teenager living with me) it seems like they make it even easier these days, but dunno I guess

 

I can agree there. Mostly the show displays how irrelevant to actual life our educational systems are. Then again the reason we don't "use" math and science every day is because people aren't motivated (or can't afford the education) to get forward thinking jobs. A janitor doesnt need environmental science and biology skills lol.
