06/15 - Finally Friday!

Especially relevant that my stepmom is only 6 years older than me.

She was over compensating and not exactly...mature.

On the plus side, Matt made me some lovely (terrible) glitter pine cones for our tree with yarn loops to hang them.

They are awful and I love them.

 

My dad is married to a Grinch too! But she's not my stepmom. Will never have anything approaching that title for me.

 

only difference is if you have to wait 30 days for the first check as opposed to 14

I remember it as a kid maybe early teens(?) Might of been a more my brothers group thing ...can't remember now. I should check it out.

 

Who takes Christmas ornaments seriously? Enough to call little kid ones (the best ones) "silly."
My African angel one and little plastic mouse I used to make travel around the tree and go on adventures with all the other ornaments are my two favorites of theirs.

 

I don't think I've ever actually referred to her as my stepmom except to explain that she's married to my dad cause...she went to school with my sister and all that and I've known her since she was in middle school. It's kinda awkward turtle. She would also gag if I called her that LOL. Everyone just assumes we are sisters and we don't often correct.

She's a Grinch (but hey, so am I!) but I don't hate her. She taught me to ride a 2 wheeler bike like a big girl AND how to drive (among other things). Everyone else in my family kept forgetting.

 

So how old were you when they got married?

 

She is one of those folks who enjoys a perfectly matching tree, with a perfectly matching color scheme. My dad and I are more of the tacky decor type for holidays.

So, they have only 1 type or ornament in 2 colors and very tasteful holiday decor (only white christmas lights, only decorative matching stockings, etc) while I march around with a 3 foot plastic christmas candy cane, classy ornaments like bikini wearing hippos, all the ugliest christmas stockings I can find, and all my lights are multicolored. Oh, and garland. Just...tinsel and garland anywhere I can get it.

 

I actually saw some colored popsicle sticks, fuzzy pom pom things, and googly eyes the other day and was sorely tempted to.

Yeah I just looked it up and it must of been either in our before or after school cartoon lineup. And the toys I remember but I was Transformers and GI Joe.

 

I need some ribbon and glitter glue too. Maybe construction paper. Gonna turn my room into a first grade classroom, I guess.
