Ha, thanks. The landlords are out of the country and gave me the number for their guy, but he didn't answer. Going to pop it open tomorrow and see if it's something I can fix myself. I have a sneaking suspicion that the capacitor has blown...which is about $15-20 and 20 minutes of work.

 

I'm a licensed universal HVAC technician (among lots of other terrible things). Still, I get great joy from discharging the capacitor in a home system by shorting the connectors with a metal screwdriver. ZAP! Professional grade.
