    Matt just loves to tell everyone that one of the reasons he pursued me so hard was that he dislikes women with heavy southern accents so my "loud yankee screech of "I'm from LAWN GUYLAND YOU GUYSSSS!" makes him super happy. He will purposely get me to say words that give away my accent, which was never that strong in the first place but he gets a kick out if it. His mother is horrified of me because she really wanted him to settle down with a graceful, quiet southern belle and I'm...super loud and weird. She still tries to set him up or suggest that they can just get an apartment together and be roomates, I can just find my own place alone! Also, I immediately love you because you felt the need to specify that your family is genetically spaced out, that is amazing! You're fabulous, I love it. :emoji_joy:

    Sorry, I think it sounds so redneck and I hate it. I cannot say it or I would implode. I say "you guys" because I cannot help that I'm a Long Island girl, and we were not raised to say anything else.

    Y'all is a beautiful, fantastic contraction that fills the epic fail of a void in English for a distinguished form of you singular vs. you plural and is the only entirely gender-neutral form out of the most common options. Also, y'all has been slowly growing in popularity in regions outside of the south and is likely to win in the end.

    I don't use y'all. I was raised in an area where 'you guys' was what you said.

    At a job in high school (after moving further south than where I was born), I was bidding some customers farewell.

    Me: You guys have a great rest of your day!
    Woman: *angry* Um, we're LADIES.

    I swear she sashayed a bit when she said it, but this was a decade ago so it may be wishful thinking.

    Sometimes. RVs too. I've always skipped boats, but I've submitted some tents and RVs in the past. As long as you can definitely prove what parcel of land/address it's at, but I usually skip them unless it's super obvious or the HIT is worth enough to spend the time on it.

    The day I say y'all is the day I'm straight up dead and someone is puppeteering my dead body to say things I would NEVER say while I'm alive. It sounds so wrong to me. I'm sure it's a product of my Grinchy yankee upbringing but i just can't make myself do it. Honestly, it would give Matt a stroke if I ever did say it and do you want Matt to have a stroke? NO? That's what I thought. I just CANNOT.
