The best thing workers can do is continue to provide quality data. Requesters are the ones who need to solve this problem. MTurk can't do anything about it unless the requesters inform them of the "bots".

Its also unlikely rampant bot abuse. Its more likely 1 person or group who has access to multiple accounts either through phishing or buying and using those accounts through a VPN. That's why all of the "bot" accounts are showing up under similar geolocation data. Yes, geolocation data are not remotely foolproof for identifying people, but its useful in context.

 

Thank you guys, I guess was concerned about Amazon somehow overreacting to the bad "press"
But if you all don't sweat it, then I will follow suit.

I'd say try to see her angle of it best you can, and then tell her how you feel. If ya did something silly the last time ya drank maybe she was trying to avoid any weirdness with her coworkers? I'm an alcoholic, so I don't drink anymore, but when I did I made it a very strong point to never drink with my coworkers.

Her main worry is that we know some terrible shit about one of her coworkers boyfriends and she didn't want me to say anything about it. I definitely am at least some sort of alcoholic. I will 100% stop drinking when I have kids though, I don't have anything when I babysit my younger siblings.
