other times their goldens are literally just broken and wrong.

Oh yes I certainly read through them several times, I even refer to them while working on the task if I'm unsure.

I normally don't get many goldens wrong on the other tasks, and if I do I can usually guess what one it was but for whatever reason I just suck at this one

Don't beat yourself up. Before they randomized them, I used to know which questions were the golden ones in each HIT. Sometimes they were just blatantly wrong as per their own instructions. Other times a pin wouldn't load and that would be the golden and if you put "pin missing" it oopsed you out.
