Yeah, I know. I'm just messing with all the cat peeps on TH. I used to date a girl that had a cat and it was fine in her apt. She just cleaned it out everyday or before someone came over. Plus it was one of those covered litter boxes. If I wasn't such a fuck up in my 20s I would have probably realized she was a keeper. Then again, if I didn't have regrets, I'd have nothing at all (except my dogs).

 

I really want to get a dog, but they're a lot of work. Plus I like to travel and randomly go on 3 week vacations and stuff. It's just not feasible, but god damn do I miss having a dog. They're such good friends. Maybe if I settle down and start a family or some shit. Anyone looking to get knocked up real quick? I'll be in and out in 2 minutes I promise.

I don't think I've ever heard of someone having a kid just so they could get a dog, that's impressive dedication.

 

Okay, sorry to put work in the middle of the puppy convo, but will someone please please pretty please explain to me the purpose and usefulness of the worker site? I kinda hate it. But maybe I'm just not up to date on happy scripts for it or something.. because I hate it, so I've ignored it since I've come back.

 

It's fine to ignore it because I'm pretty sure everyone has, but you can run pandas and scrapers on it to avoid PREing on the normal site.

I do have OW running on it (as of earlier today) because HM hasn't been seeing jack for me lately.

Does that work? I thought PREs and that stupid throttling crap were based on account? So doing on the www site and the worker site kinda makes it think you're all good? (excuse my lack of real words tonight. I'm exhausted but can't shut the head up..)

 

It's still based on account, but you get twice as many requests per PRE if you split them up between the two. www is 0.980 requests per second allowed or whatever it is and so is worker - each are counted separately. So every 0.98 seconds(or whatever it is) you can have a page request on both www and worker without PREs

 

Thank ya'll muchly. At least it has *some* use. Really, I get the heebie jeebies when I'm over there for more than a couple of hits. Plus something about it always makes me forget to actually submit surveys I do. I always end up looking at my queue on the www site and seeing the survey still there. Thank goodness I usually still have the code on my clipboard.

 

where is the clipboard and code. I think I need that. I've had several hits not show up on my dashboard but seemed to submit ok.
