    It can shame you into standing up/walking around/getting x amount of steps per hour. I think it's once per hour, not sure if it's customizable.

    I think it would be a good motivational tool. When I see my steps are lacking I am more likely to get up and move around. Plus there are badges/stickers which I've heard are good motivators.

    Get one of the cheaper knockoffs from Amazon.. They're 1/5th the price so less risk. If you get value out of it, then hop onto the FitBit train.

    The social aspect is the only reason I'd ever opt for a fitbit again, as far as company practices go you're simply better off buying a cheap, shitty knockoff that'll last a year & replace since Fitbit wont stand behind their product for more than a year anyway :dunno:

    ETA: IME, at least. Mileage will vary I'm sure.
