    If you want to start getting more steps, it can be. Especially if you have a few friends on it that can motivate you/cheer you on. But if you have no want to, it's just an overpriced pedometer.

    This too, but don't worry, we have friendly low/normal achiever competitions too, since a few of us have no choice but to be stationary while we work, but still want the motivation to move.

    Ot get the opposite of a cheap knockoff if you're interested in the full thing - the apple watch has certain aspects that focus on health - hourly reminders to move, a tracker on the face of the watch to show steps, calories, exercise minutes, etc. It plays a fun little graphic when you meet goals. But it doesn't play nice with fitbit if you wanted to join in friendly competitions or whatever.

    Also worth noting a lot of things sync with the fitbit app. I use the app, but sync it with my phone/gps tracking/hrm and none of them are fitbit related. The app jives well with apple health. A lot of us in the fitibit thread don't use fitbits at all lol. I'd wager I'm one of the heavier steppers there and I can't stand having an actual fitbit attached to my person.
