Okay, so that fruit thing was bothering me and I asked a couple more people about it. Turns out I'm a clueless idiot.

So, my coworker's son is one of my interns and I just didn't notice somehow over the last six weeks. I guess she likes that I picked him and maybe she thought I did it on purpose or something. I didn't even know until just now. She never brought it up, probably to avoid any nepotism nonsense. Honestly, he was the first person to contact me about it, so I went with him because I liked the initiative. Totally tried to play it off in front of him right now. I guess I should socialize with these people a little more in stead of posting on forums and browsing reddit (but I won't).

In my defense, the name Otero is pretty common in El Paso.

 

His gf seems to prefer food that is burnt so now he caters to that. I would rate his cooking ability before he started dating his gf at about average and now he is somehow below average.
