I'm in Arizona but my mortgage is too much I think. I bought the house before I had my eyes opened. We'll sell in a few years it's cool

Not really. Property taxes in the rural areas really aren't too bad. Check a website like Tricounty Realty (Jackson, Randolph, Perry, mainly) and it'll give you the last year's taxes for that particular property. My inlaws pay more in Western New York.

 

I was tossing around whether or not I could stand the conditions enough to move to the Kingman area.

Oh hell no. That's why I was asking about Chicago yesterday. We've lived here for 7.5 years, and I've been almost there once, to Aurora, on a weekend, riding with someone else to keep them company. Stayed in a hotel all day, then came home. Other than that, farthest north I've been here is Champaign.

 

Doesn't every city have ghetto violence? The entire eastern half of the country has ticks. I live in one of the statistically safest* (edit: crime) regions in the US. Rednecks are pervasive in American culture, I chose the south because snow and ice suck, and there is always Mississippi to make me feel better about where I live.

 

I know Paducah. I used to live in Evansville. I won't go back.
