about how long does it normally take for something to go from "approved" to "paid" ?

That poor guy is so used to slave wages that he refuses to believe that someone could make >$30/hr on a batch and do well here ect

 

my brother does a bunch of those throughout the day. usually paid by next day

 

AMT seems to run the payments batching a handful of times/day.. I feel like maybe every 6-12 hours or so?

 

I'm pretty sure that they shake a magic 8ball every hour to see if they should pay a batch that is sitting on approved.

I'm personally ambivalent to this reddit stupidity, but at this point it seems like a broken record that I'm unsure if only amusing to you or not (damn would've been a good sunday poll).. But if you're going to start dropping political quips I'm definitely going to start nuking it here.

No worries, protest away because its not something I spreadsheet or hardly even look at. It doesn't get picked up on my radar tbh, was just going off faint memory & wild guess in case no one else had a better answer. Hence the wishy/washy "feels" & large time ranges versus "THIS IS WORD FROM ON HIGH LISTEN TO ME AND BOW PEASANTS"

My calculations are more like:

If you're a full-time Turker, every second you're not working needs to be counted against your wage.

There are 24 hours in a day.
There are 168 hours in a week.
There are 10,080 minutes in a week.
$890.49 / 10,080 ~= $0.09 (dollars/minute).
$0.09/min. = $5.40/hr.

$5.40/hr. is impossible somehow?

OK, let's add 8 cozy hours of sleep every single day to the equation:

16 hours in a day.
112 hours in a week.
6,720 minutes in a week.
$890.49 / 6,720 ~= $0.13 (dollars/minute).
$0.13/min. ~= $7.95/hr.

$7.95/hr. is impossible somehow?

Most people, with enough dedication and work ethic, can hit these numbers.

Even someone without any particular skills or quals to speak of could slave away their whole life on mTurk on sub-minimum-wage and make around the weekly you posted. Earning a higher wage makes it more comfortable and lets you actually live a life, but it certainly isn't necessary for the weekly report to possible. That's what gets me. These people literally think it's impossible.
