Unless I've missed something - which is always possible - Apple has not said anything about supporting RCS. Hence, no iPhone. (Jailbreaking doesn't count.) I'll get more pedantic and say Chat doesn't have end-to-end encryption, or at least it didn't six months ago. The responses are talking about which carriers are rolling it out, so I stand behind that bullet point. And I will continue to posit that, outside technology enthusiasts, the general public will have no idea what you mean if you say "RCS".

 

That's like my life's motto. I need to cross stitch it and hang it on my wall.

 

Apple will support RCS once the carriers support and it is as simple as that.

The general public also doesn't need to know what RCS is as it is just 'modern chat' that is all that matters.
