You've been in grad school for 10 years? Seems like you should maybe think about moving on at this point.

With the amount of debt I'm in, you would think that's the case. But alas, it's just medical bills.

Everyone said having a baby is great.

    I feel lied to.

I keep checking on the ones I can't remember who I picked

And I'm actually watching it. Plus my daughters dad explained how it all works to me, so like, now I actually know what's going on :flail:

Seriously though. My anxiety disorder messes with my sleep pretty badly, before I got on a working medication for it no matter how much I slept I always felt like I hadn't slept at all. And it just felt normal.

But after my first couple good night's of sleep it was like whoaaaa

"I love you and all, but... I just don't like you, honey."

That's paraphrasing stuff my dad used to tell me. He should not have had kids. :-\

Right in the feels. Both my parents used to say that.

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon
Little boy blue and the man in the moon
    When you coming home, dad?
    I don't know when
    But we'll get together then
You know we'll have a good time then

I have some kind of undiagnosed sleeping disorder, and my insurance doesn't cover the tests needed to figure it out. So I'm self medicating with caffeine, but I only intake around 200mg a day, it's not a bad addiction.

It's on my to do list to go get checked by a professional and maybe work out some medication. But just not possible right now. Not to mention all the problems I have that I am aware of (like narcolepsy!). Maybe one day... Kiddo always comes first though.

 I feel you there. My mom was the same way.

I would never tell my son anything like that. I think it in my head or I vent to my husband, but he doesn't need to hear it. It's not 100% his fault that I'm frustrated with something. He's a child for crying out loud. He has enough issues without adding any mommy issues on top of it.

When the furnace died today and I was mid-panic attack and he kept asking for lunch and a drink, I never took it out on him.

    Deep breaths, deep breaths...

Parenting is fun, guys. I swear.

Sometimes I tell Bearnie that he's a little shit, but I do it in a high pitched voice that makes him think I'm praising him in some way.

    You're a good Mom bb!

If it's a cost thing, look for an income based mental health facility near you. That's what I went through and it's not the best for therapy because super high turnover rate of therapists, but for getting meds it's a lifesaver. But I did find that OTC sleep meds work better for me for sleep than prescription do, if that's something you need. The ones that are basically Benadryl. Same to you @jdzane , if you want to try tackling sleeping better instead of fully relying on caffeine, you could try them too. My med person said they're a better option than prescription even because they aren't a risk of forming a dependency or anything.

There has rarely been a more definitive scientific fact about a molecule/nutrient than the fact that caffeine is good for you. I mean you need air and food to survive, you don't need caffeine. But caffeine is good for you.

Also, heavy drinkers outlive non-drinkers, which everyone with a brainstem, at least one eye, and more than 30 years on earth knew anyway.

You're like my mom. She really had a lot of patience with me. Eventually I wore that poor women though. I was such a piece a shit when I was a teenager. I'm surprised we even have a relationship at all. I'm also surprised at how little hitting there was in my childhood. You could still hit kids back then.
